Skills and experience: Michael, General Manager for Orgaworld Canada since June 2017, leads the Canadian teams and drives performance at three operational organic waste processing facilities in Ottawa, London, Ontario and Surrey, British Columbia . Michael joins Orgaworld from Honeywell Canada, where he was District General Manager and achieved impressive sales growth in a challenging environment. He has also spent time in various senior management roles in leading global organizations, such as Lafarge and Siemens, building teams and facilitating change in order to optimize results.
Skills and experience: Jamie, Financial Controller for Orgaworld since August 2017, is a Chartered Accountant and graduate of the Richard Ivey School of Business at UWO. Jamie oversees the finance department as well as works closely with the operations team in all aspects of the business from compliance to commercial bidding. Jamie earned his designation with Ernst & Young and has since spent his time working for large multinationals like Orgaworld/Renewi and has helped to stabilize the business since his arrival this past year.
Skills and Experience: Darveen, has been working as the Senior Accountant at Orgaworld Canada since July 2017 and has over 8 years’ accounting experience in mid to large-size corporations. Darveen works alongside the Financial Controller to oversee all accounting issues such as yearly budgeting, cost counting and reconciliations across the business. She graduated from British Columbia Institute of Technology and almost complete her CPA designation.
Skills and experience: With over 25 years‘ experience in managing air, water, waste and industrial safety compliance concerns in mid to large-size manufacturing facilities in Canada and the United States, David is Orgaworld Canada’s Environmental Compliance Officer. Responsible for providing oversight of and technical guidance on, all regulatory and corporate environmental, health & safety compliance matters within the three locations of Orgaworld Canada Ltd.
Skills and Experience: Kimberley joined Renewi Canada in 2015. She has a wide range of Project Management experience, particularly in the public sector. Prior to joining Renewi Canada, she was with Bouygues Construction, where she completed multiple public service projects including projects for the RCMP, hospitals and schools. She has completed multiple P3 projects and has a keen understanding of client needs, operational requirements and long term contract commitments.
Ann-Marie Cooper, CHRP
Human Resources and Communications Advisor
Skills and Experience: Ann-Marie, is a forward-thinking Certified Human Resources Professional with a passion for improving the quality of services through employee relations. After graduating from the University of Western Ontario, she moved to Hamilton to further her education at Mohawk College in Human Resources Management. Previously she worked at Hamilton Health Sciences as a Clinical Resource Coordinator, where she collaborated with managers to provide appropriate staffing levels for inpatient units. Ann-Marie's leadership, enthusiasm and dedication to teamwork earned her a reputation as a leader in client relations.
Administration and Accounts Payable, Canada
Skills and Experience: Teresa has joined Renewi Canada in 2008 to provide administrative support to the London facility. She has since grown with our company and supports the Canadian business in administration and accounts payable ensuring efficient and smooth day-to-day operations.
Operations Manager, London
Skills and experience: Michael Rooke, currently serves as the Operations Manager for the Orgaworld London Facility and has been with Orgaworld since April 2009. With over 25 years’ experience in the waste processing industry, Michael is responsible for all operational, health & safety, and regulatory issues that occur at the London facility. In previous roles at Orgaworld, Mike has served as the Operations Manager for the Ottawa facility and also as the Compliance Officer for Orgaworld Canada.
Operations Manager, Ottawa
Skills and Experience: Prior to joining Renewi, Andre held positions as General Manager and Plant Manager at Suncor Inc and BioAmber Inc. Andre served the Suncor Ethanol plant business unit as General Manager, from a greenfield build through to 8 years of profitable operation. At BioAmber Inc, also a greenfield project, Andre was appointed Plant Manger to oversee the set up of the business unit. Andre's earlier career, after graduating from the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton, was spent earning progressively senior management positions in the Pulp and Paper Industry.
